Overview

How TWINJAM works with ClickUp

ClickUp's flexibility is a double-edged sword for agencies. Spaces, folders and lists can mirror the SOW perfectly, or drift away from it within a month. TWINJAM connects to the ClickUp workspace you authorize and lets you choose which spaces or lists represent each client contract. Every task in those lists is mapped to a contracted deliverable, and tasks with no contractual home are flagged.

ClickUp's authorization model grants access at the workspace level, so TWINJAM adds its own allowlist on top: it only processes the spaces and lists you select in TWINJAM settings and discards events from everything else at the edge. You can change that list at any time without re-authorizing.

Because many ClickUp teams track time inside tasks, TWINJAM can also read time tracked on flagged tasks, which turns a Scope Drift flag into a concrete number: how many hours have already been spent on work that is not in the contract.

In practice

Bulk import, already 6.5 hours in

A bulk user import task appears in the Phase 2 list. TWINJAM flags it against milestone M2, which covers single-user admin only, and shows that 6.5 hours are already tracked on it. The PM now has a concrete number for the client conversation.

The payload on the right is the event TWINJAM emits to your triage feed and to outbound webhooks, so you can route it into your own reporting.

ScopeWhy TWINJAM needs it
Workspace access (ClickUp OAuth)ClickUp grants access per workspace. TWINJAM then processes only the spaces and lists you allowlist.

Events

What triggers a check.

  • taskCreated

Maps new tasks in allowlisted lists to SOW deliverables.

  • taskUpdated

Re-scores tasks when names, descriptions or lists change.

  • taskCommentPosted

    Scores comments for client requests.

  • taskTimeTrackedUpdated

Totals hours already spent on flagged tasks.

Setup

Connect ClickUp in about 3 minutes.

An admin connects once. PMs never need to re-authenticate, and you can revoke access from TWINJAM or the vendor's admin console at any time.

  1. 1Choose Connect ClickUp and authorize the workspace that holds client delivery.
  2. 2In TWINJAM, allowlist the spaces or lists for each client contract.
  3. 3Confirm the list-to-deliverable mapping proposed from the SOW.
  4. 4Turn on time totals for flagged tasks if your team tracks time in ClickUp.

FAQ

ClickUp integration questions

Task names, descriptions, statuses and list location in allowlisted lists. Task comments. Time tracked on flagged tasks. It never reads: spaces and lists outside your allowlist (events are discarded on receipt); docs, whiteboards and chat views; personal task lists and reminders.

Nothing. TWINJAM does not create, edit or move ClickUp tasks. Every action that could reach a client requires a PM to approve it first.
