Scope-creep detection for agencies

Your client asked for a “quick favor” in Slack. You just lost $4,000.

TWINJAM checks Slack, Jira and GitHub against your signed SOW, catches scope creep before coding starts, and drafts change orders clients happily sign.

Works with Slack, Teams, Jira, Linear & GitHub · 2-minute setup · Zero developer time tracking required

Hey! Can we make the export feature also generate custom PDF invoices for EU VAT? Should be a quick one.

Sure thing, should only take a couple of hours!

The anatomy of unbilled scope creep

Scope creep doesn't happen in formal change requests. It happens in Slack at 4:30 PM.

82% of out-of-scope requests first appear in Slack or Teams, not tickets. Toggle the timeline to see the same request with and without a referee.

  1. Tue 4:30 PM

    The casual request

Client posts in #proj-redesign: “Can we make the export also generate custom PDF invoices for EU VAT?”

  2. Tue 4:34 PM

    The well-meaning developer

“Sure thing, a couple of hours!” Actual: 18 hours, 3 API revisions and a breaking schema change.

  3. +3 weeks

    The PM discovery

Sprint budget is 140% burned. Nobody can find where the hours went.

  4. +4 weeks

    The awkward confrontation

Agency raises an invoice. Client: “You never said this was out of scope!”

  5. Month end

    The write-off

$3,600 of billable engineering time disappears from the project P&L.

Net result: $3,600 written off and a client who now doubts your estimates.

“We recovered $42,000 in unbilled engineering work across four client projects in our first 60 days. None of it was a fight.”

“It took the emotion out of scope management. Our PMs walk into client calls with the clause, the thread and the hours already lined up.”

Built for how you deliver

Different agencies leak margin in different places.

Stop absorbing uncontracted API quirks and auth refactors.

TWINJAM reads pull requests for new migrations, SDKs and routes, and compares Jira stories with SOW milestones, so a “small” third-party change surfaces before it eats a sprint.

TWINJAM vs. time tracking

Time trackers tell you the money is gone. TWINJAM stops it leaving.

Harvest and Toggl are excellent at recording hours after they are worked. TWINJAM sits upstream: it stops unbilled work before developers write the code, then reads your time entries to prove it.

Enterprise security & data isolation

Your clients' words stay your clients' words.

Read the security architecture
  • Zero model training

No client code or chat is ever used to train public or shared models. Inference runs under zero-retention agreements.

  • Granular channel filtering

Only the #client- channels and repos you allow-list are read. Everything else is invisible to TWINJAM.

  • SOC 2 Type II infrastructure

AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, read-only OAuth scopes, US, EU or India data residency.

Questions agencies ask first

The six objections we hear in every demo.

Still unsure? Explore the sandbox or talk to our team.

TWINJAM runs as a private bot inside your agency workspace and reads only the shared #client channels you select. Alerts go to a private PM feed such as #pm-scope-alerts. Clients never receive an automated message, and nothing is posted into the shared channel.

Every flag carries a confidence score and the exact SOW clause it was compared against. Low-confidence items land in a review queue for the PM to accept, dismiss or mark as in scope, and those decisions tune the rules for that contract. TWINJAM never sends anything to a client without PM approval.

Under 45 seconds for a typical 25-page PDF or Word SOW. You then review the extracted deliverables, exclusions, revision caps and assumptions before monitoring starts, which usually takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp, Trello and GitHub Issues and pull requests, alongside Slack, Microsoft Teams and Gmail or Outlook for client email. Time and finance sync covers Harvest, Toggl Track, Clockify, QuickBooks Online and Xero.

Yes. Set role-based or blended hourly rates per client, choose fixed-price addendums, hourly or milestone adjustments, and apply your own branding, payment terms and signature blocks. Change orders export to PDF or go straight to DocuSign or PandaDoc.

No. TWINJAM reads time entries from Harvest, Toggl Track, Clockify or QuickBooks Time and correlates them with contracted deliverables, so you can see which hours were spent inside the SOW and which went to work nobody agreed to pay for.
