Senior Backend Engineer, Connectors

What you will do

• Design and operate webhook and event-stream ingestion for Slack Events API, Microsoft Graph change notifications, Jira and Linear webhooks, and GitHub App events at roughly 40 million events a month.
• Enforce channel allow-listing and least-privilege OAuth scopes at the connector edge, so non-selected channels are dropped before any processing.
• Build idempotent, replayable pipelines with per-tenant backpressure, retries and dead-letter queues, and keep p95 flag latency under 20 seconds.
• Own connector health signals that power our public status page, including token expiry detection and automatic re-authorisation prompts.
• Write design docs, review code, and pair with Applied AI on the payloads the classifier receives.

What you bring

• 6+ years building production backend systems in TypeScript, Go or Python.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of: Slack API, Microsoft Graph, Atlassian Cloud APIs, GitHub Apps.
• Strong grasp of OAuth 2.0, token rotation, webhook signature verification and rate-limit handling.
• Comfort with Postgres, Redis and a managed queue (SQS, Pub/Sub or Kafka) under real load.
• Clear written communication; you can explain a trade-off to a PM and a security reviewer in the same doc.
